We live in central oregon now
It's been in the works for half the year-- and now we're doing it. Louis and I are living on Black Butte Ranch in beautiful Central Oregon. The resort is located just ten miles northwest of Sisters and only a little ways west of Bend.
A lot of planning and risk went into making this happen, but at last we are here, living together, ready to work long hours. The both of us are employed with the ranch, myself working for the Maintenance Department and Louis for Recreation. We've got good pay, a roof over out heads, and each other-- it's the perfect recipe.
I thought it would be a good idea (on account of being quite board today while Louis goes to work - I start Monday) to go through the house a bit and post a little tour of our new lodgings.
The picture above is the house itself. It's a fantastic little place with an aesthetic set no later in time than 1985... because most of the house's features come from before that period. It features large patio porches in both the front and the back, complete with deck furniture, large windows letting the sunlight in, and a garage for our bikes and the car we'll be driving the majority of the time (Louis' parent's old suburban - they are bringing it to us on the 21st after it gets the tags replaced). The house has a living area with attached kitchen, three bedrooms (1 master, 1 guest, 1 children's room), two bathrooms, and a game room, among other things.
Without further ado, here's some pictures. I'll walk you through the place.

There's some oddities in the back yard. Louis' mother is responsible for all of this. She's a characteristic woman.
There's one other notable thing on the back deck. First, though, it's story time. When Louis first got here roughly two weeks ago, he began hearing a strange noise in the walls. Quickly, he decided that it was a squirrel who had somehow gotten in there. So, for the next two weeks, poor Louis would spend his time alone in near constant silence broken only by the maddening sounds of this squirrel moving through the walls behind the bathroom.
Naturally, he investigated this at length, and eventually found where he thinks the animal got in. I joked with Louis about cabin fever, but after hearing it myself, I can say for sure there is a sizable rodent living in this house with us.

We now head inside, starting with what you will find as you walk in the front door.
That's really the entire house, or at least the parts of the house we'll be using. There is a master bedroom, but Louis' parents would make a fuss if we did anything in there, so it's sort of a dead zone.
This is promising to be a both productive and fun summer. You, whatever audience currently exists for this stuff, will be brought along for whatever we deem interesting enough for ya'll.
In the meantime, thanks for reading. Love ya.
